So sorry for the delay, Saska! I was extremely busy for the last few days.

Good points, Saska! Establishing boundaries from the beginning is very key as you said. The advice that we get about “testing the waters” seems logical, but it is foolish and will only “steal, kill & destroy” from us (and the other person) in some measure.

Thank you, Jim for taking the time to comment and give good advice! I definitely agree that we should not beat up on ourselves for our past mistakes, but repent and trust God, through His Word and His Holy Spirit, to do better going forward.

It’s an area I struggle with especially thinking that indulging in other forms of lovemaking is ok once it does not involve sex. However, the guilt steps in when I remember the verses, ‘flee fornication ‘ and ‘one’s body is the temple of the Holy Spirit’. Thank God for his love and forgiveness.
As a young Christian woman, I have to keep praying for God to give me the strength to live a life pleasing onto Him.

Also, I think we must establish boundaries with our partner quite early in a relationship so he can understand and avoid pushing the subject to satisfy his needs.

In my part of the world, some folks use the terms ‘testing the waters’ or ‘not buying pig in bag’ as ways to justify sexual involvement before marriage. Thus, they feel that they have to see, feel and touch before marriage. However, this is against our Biblical guidelines as you shared above.

Comments are welcomed.

It reminds me of the old adage “Think before you act”. The blog provides wonderful questions to ask yourself before and during a romantic relationship. I think even if a person has gone too far in the past, he/she can still choose to act differently and honour God in the relationship. God is very loving and forgiving so don’t beat up. and just do better going forward 🙂 Thank you Kimberly for your wonderful, scriptural, yet practical advice 😀

Thanks for being transparent, Ahaiziah! We’re all in a process of growth and it’s important that we share our victories as well as our struggles. So proud of you!:)

I can say that I feel safe now to tell someone “do as I do”. Thank God I have another chance to make it right in His eyes.

I used to believe as well that anything else except sex goes, but as indulged in them, I would feel very convicted! So indeed God is our compass in how we honor Him and the other person, cause as you said we are all different in how we respond to touch.

I appreciate today’s blog so much.
